Eco Forum

SLH has set up an Eco forum with the aim to create a working culture that promotes sustainability, reduction or waste and consideration of the wider environment for staff, tenants and the wider community. The vision is for SLH to operate in a socially responsible manner which helps sustain the environment and minimises the impact that our business, tenants' homes or any service providers may have. SLH will be looking for input from tenants and will therefore be consulting the Neighbourhood Panel and the Community Focus Group. If you would like more information on getting involved with either of these groups please fill in our online form.

Energy Saving Tips

• Don't use a tumble dryer to dry your clothes and save around £40 a year.
• In most homes about 10-15% of the electricity bill is for lighting, so energy saving light bulbs can cut your costs considerably.
• Take showers instead of baths, this saves water and can save you money on your water bill.
• Always turn the light off when not in a room.

Cycle Speke

SLH supports Cycle Speke, which encourages people to cycle more rather than drive. Cycling is free, gets you fitter and gets you to where you need to be! Cycle Speke are running various bike rides and events in Speke and around Liverpool, including Cycling Sundays which occur on the first Sunday of every month and run from Parklands at 2pm. They also offer free cycling and maintenance sessions to brush up on your riding skills and check over your bike.
